A grant is a type of financial aid that is generally not repaid and whose source could be through
federal, state, or university funds. Grants are typically awarded to students with financial need.
File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year by the March 1st KU priority date
to be considered for limited funded need-based grant programs.
Work-study is a type of financial aid that is designed to promote part-time employment of financially
eligible student to help avoid excessive debt while in school. If you are awarded work-study funds,

A loan is a type of financial aid that generally requires repayment. Loans can be need-based on
non-need-based, so financial need may not be required for some loan programs. File your

considered for limited funded low-interest loan programs.
