January Events

January 1st, 2009 - New Year's Day - University is closed.

January 1st, 2009 - The 2009-10 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available - Apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Apply by the March 1st KU priority date to be considered for limited funded programs, such as the KU Tuition Grant. KU's Federal School Code is 001948.

January 12th, 2009 - Excess Financial Aid refunds for Spring 2009 will be available beginning January 12, 2009. If you have excess financial aid and have submitted a Direct Deposit Authorization form to the Bursar's Office, your refund will be electronically deposited into your bank account. If you do not have a Direct Deposit Authorization form on file with the Bursar's Office, your refund (if applicable) will be mailed to your billing address. Make sure your billing address is up-to-date online in Enroll & Pay at https://sa.ku.edu. You can also complete the Direct Deposit Authorization form in Enroll & Pay (Student Center>Set Up Direct Deposit). Please note: You must have a complete financial aid file before funds can be applied to your student account.

February Events

February 5th, 2009 - Last day to drop a Spring 2009 class online. Review the Withdrawing or Dropping Classes publication.

February 12th, 2009 - 20th Day of Classes.

March Events

May 7th, 2009 - Last Day of Classes - Last day for Spring 2009 loans.

May 8th, 2009 - Stop Day.

May 11th, 2009 - First Day of Finals.

May 15th, 2009 - Last Day of Finals.

May 17th, 2009 - Commencement.

May 25th, 2009 - Memorial Day - University is closed.

June Events

June 8th, 2009 - Last day for 100% refund for Summer 2009 enrollment.

June 9th, 2009 - First Day of Summer 2009 Classes.

June 23rd, 2009 - 0% refund period begins for Summer 2009 enrollment.

July Events

July 3rd, 2009 - Independence day observation - University is closed.

July 21st, 2009 - Last day to withdraw from all Summer 2009 courses. Review the Withdrawing or Dropping Classes publication.

July 31st, 2009 - Last Day of Summer 2009 Classes.

August Events

August 18th, 2009 -

If your financial aid, scholarships, or other payments exceed the amount on your eBill, you will have a credit balance on your account. Excess financial aid refunds are typically available 6 business days after your financial aid file becomes complete. The first day to obtain excess financial aid for the Fall 2009 term is August 18, 2009. Questions about financial aid that has not applied to your university account should be directed to the Office of Student Financial Aid.

The fastest way to get your refund is to elect to have your excess funds directly deposited into your checking or savings account. To set up direct deposit for the future, complete the Direct Deposit Authorization form online in Enroll & Pay (Student Center>Set Up Direct Deposit).

If you have not elected to have your excess financial aid deposited directly into your bank account, your refund will be mailed to your billing address. Questions about having excess financial aid funds deposited into your bank account should be directed to the Bursar's Office at (785) 864-3322.

October Events

October 15th, 2009 - Fall Break begins. The Office of Student Financial Aid is open during Fall Break.

November 25th, 2009 - Thanksgiving Break begins.

November 29th, 2009 - Thanksgiving Break ends.

December Events

December 10th, 2009 - Last Day of Fall 2009 Classes - Last day for Fall 2009 loans.

December 11th, 2009 - Stop Day.

December 14th, 2009 - First Day of Finals.
