January Events

January 1st, 2012 - New Year's Day - University is closed.

January 12th, 2012 - Excess Financial Aid refunds for Spring 2012 will be available beginning January 12, 2012. If you have excess financial aid and have set up Direct Deposit Authorization with the Bursar's Office, your refund will be electronically deposited into your bank account. If not, you can set up Direct Deposit online in Enroll & Pay at https://sa.ku.edu (Student Center>Set Up Direct Deposit). Please note: You must have a complete financial aid file before funds can be applied to your student account.

February Events

February 1st, 2012 - Hixson Opportunity Award Deadline

The deadline for applications for the Hixson Opportunity Award is a postmark deadline of Wednesday, February 1. Please note that due to the inclement weather in the state, the Financial Aid and Scholarships office will be lenient with this deadline and will accept materials postmarked by Friday, February 3. Letters of recommendation can be mailed separately from other application materials. In addition, application materials may be faxed to (785) 864-5469.

The Hixson Opportunity Award was established to provide the opportunity for students to attend the University of Kansas who would otherwise not be able to attend. Freshmen entering KU for the Fall 2011 semester are eligible to apply. The Hixson Opportunity Award is a $5,000 annual scholarship, renewable for four years for a total of $20,000. February 12th, 2012 - College Goal Sunday

Student financial aid experts will be volunteering at various sites across Kansas on February13, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm to help you apply for a Department of Education PIN and/or complete your 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). College Goal Sunday will offer $500 scholarship drawings at the conclusion of the event at each of the Kansas sites.
